The Age of America has just begun
What is it about these politicians? One minute they are wrapping themselves in the flag, another minute they are bowing before dictators. They want to transform America. They say the age of America is over.
That is loser talk.
The Age of America will never be over as long as the song of freedom lives in the breast of the human spirit. America needs a champion someone who will promote our exports abroad and bring our goods to markets. As your congressman I will demand immediate ratification of trade negotiations with South Korea and Columbia. I will demand we complete our trade agreement with Panama. I will demand we open up bilateral trade talks with our partners. In short I will work alongside you and not against you to get this economy going again!
I will demand the Federal Reserve curb inflation and stabilize prices - no more quantitative easing, no more monetizing debt, no more printing money with reckless abandon. I will demand a strong dollar from the Federal Reserve or I will demand an end to the Federal Reserve.
America has a long and proud tradition of backing her currency with gold. If the current economic team, can not provide economic stability. Team Andrew will.
Economics is like nutrition, we need to cut the fat
Economics like nutrition is not that hard to figure out. You just have to have the will to follow through with it. Unfortunately we have elected leaders who just don’t get it. They know so much about what isn’t true.
We spent $ 3.2 trillion in a little over 2 years. We don’t even know where the money went as the house of representatives is stonewalling. As your Congressman, I will work so that the Balanced Budget is not just a political sound bite, but the law of the land. 49 states have balanced budget amendments.
Californians want specific proposals that will balance the budget. Neither candidate in the July 12, 2011 election for my district offer the electorate any specifics. Only I offer such a comprehensive plan at eliminating waste. My plan includes changes to ethanol, entitlements, government employees, Post office, the government printing office, Amtrak, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and reforming Wall Street.

The Nanny State Chronicles: Episode 2- Google Me
My name is Andrew McLaren. You can google me. My opponents are googling me I am sure. You will not find as much as a speeding ticket against me. You will not find a bigger supporter of law enforcement than in Andrew Gordon McLaren. Yet I know what its like to sit in the back of a police car for a crime I did not commit. I know what its like to have your dignity besmirched and your character libeled.
Overcriminalization is the greatest threat to American liberty since the Cold War. Overcriminalization is when the City of San Francisco outlaws goldfish as pets, and plastic bags from shopping malls. Overcriminalization is when public school boards prosecute felony five year prison sentences to honor students for pocket knives and banning chocolate milk while bullies and gangs run free. Overcriminalization is when SWAT teams bust down your door and detain you for six hours for unpaid student loans only to find out they found the wrong person. Overcriminalization is having your kids taken away from you without due process presuming the parent is guilty before proven innocent. Overcriminalization is arresting a 61 year old grandmother for failing to prune her rose bush. Overcriminalization is no warning police killing of an unarmed pedestrian whose only crime was watering his lawn while drunk. As your congressman I will GLADLY repeal nit wit legislation by applying COMMON SENSE and holding bureaucrats and politicians accountable for their nit wit shenanigans.
It's The Economy STUPID!
Never engage in a battle of wits with a nit-wit. I have been a bodyguard for several members of Congress, the reality is that that nit-wits are ruining our country and that is why I want to be your congressman!
You give a man a fish. He eats for a day. You teach a man to fish, he eats everyday. Yet where is this Administration on the economy? There are 308 million Americans. 155 million are in the workforce. Three years ago, the nit wits warned us that we were barely avoiding the worst crisis since the great Depression. I got news for you, it’s worse than the great Depression. 13.9 million Americans are unemployed. Counting the unemployed, the discouraged workers and the underemployed, the figures are over 15 %. Unemployment among young people is over 19%. 80% of Americans rate this economy as poor. 44 million Americans that is 14% or one out of every 7 Americans is on welfare. The nit wits have not had one month where they created more jobs than he lost. Is that a surprise? The man who has taken more money from Wall Street does not have one man or woman from Main Street – small business advising him. There is only one way to reverse this trend and that’s growth. Growth comes from the fire of small business and that’s you and me – the typical, average American with a dream and hard work.. Bernanke's hands are tied, interest rates are as low as they can go, which incidentally is yet another hand out to Wall Street, we need Congress to get our fiscal house in order.
The economy needs to generate at least 125,000 jobs per month just to keep up with population growth. We need to generate a quarter of a million jobs to bring employment down. We don’t need growth rates of 3 to 4 percent. We need growth rates of 5, 7 and 9 percent to get out of this recession. With me as your Congressman, I will make it my personal mission to do exactly that.
Osama Bin Laden is dead and we killed him. It’s time to bring the troops home. It's time for Afghanistan and President Karzai to take control of their county. Its time for him to take care of his country while we take care of our country and that means fixing our economy.
The first U.S Marine killed in the Iraq war was an "illegal alien." Not all un-documented workers are malicious in fact most of them are hardworking people who just want to provide a decent living for their families. But we need to tighten our border with Mexico and Canada. We can do this by using our technology such as drones and by punishing employers who recruit undocumented workers. Mexico is extremely dangerous and corrupt.

Statement on the Issues
This is where I stand on key national issues.
Economy
First and foremost I will concentrate on creating jobs as I know our economy is a disaster. Things such as gas and food keep getting more expensive and wages are decreasing. This is a nightmare of a combination and we have a double digit percentage of unemployed with an even higher percentage of underemployed.
Guns!
I believe that the 2nd Ammendment guarantees all Americans to bear arms and I feel that criminals will always find a way to arm themselves and that having good law abiding citizens armed only prevents crime. I believe that we should make it easier for law abiding patriotic citizens to arm themselves and I want to repeal the assault rifle ban.
Foreign Policy and National Defense
I believe that we should withdraw all of our troops immediately from Afghanistan, Iraq, and our C.I.A advisors, drones and money from Libya. I believe this because we are spending billions of dollars on an unpopular war that is not accomplishing anything but further bankrupting our country and getting Americans killed and maimed. The war also distracts us from our number one priority which is fixing our economy.

Stem Cell Research
I'm against stem cell research unless it is an embryo that is already damaged and has no chance of ever becoming a human life. I think we should not play God and shouldn't create the beginnings of human life simply to destroy it in order to use it for science or medical benefits. I think that it is immoral to do so. I do see the value of stem cells to patients and thats why I feel that the embryo's that have no chance at becoming humans can be used to try and find cures for certain diseases.
Abortion
I think abortion is wrong but I know Roe Vs Wade will never be repealed. I will vote to make all girls under 18 have to get parental consent to get an abortion and make it mandatory to view sonograms and for them to have classes on adoption as well as talk to counselors about the ramifications of their decision. If this embarasses the girls of makes them reconsider then so be it, I don't want abortion to be used as a form of birth control. I am not God and can't say when human life is created but I know if a baby can survive on it's own outside of it's Mother's womb and is killed then thats just wrong anyway you look at it.
Technology
I believe that highspeed rail is an innovation that should be pursued and will create jobs, provide cheaper and clean environmentally friendly transportation.
Personal Liberty
I think the government should stay out of people love lives. I think that marriage is a legal contract between two consenting adults and if they of the same sex it shouldn't matter. I think it's not the governments job to tell you who you can marry. So I would vote to legalize same sex marriage.
States Rights, Overcriminalization and the Nanny State
Our prisons are overcrowded, many people in jail are there for drug crimes, we spend a massive amount of money keeping these people incarcerated. I have talked to experts about legalizing and taxing marijuana and I think it would help weaken drug cartels as well as bring in much needed revenue if we legalize pot. So I would vote to make it up to each individual state on whether or not they want to legalize marijuana.
I think that we need to tighten our border with Mexico and Canada. We can do this by using our technology such as drones and by punishing corporations who recruit undocumented workers.

We need to work with Canada and Mexico on fixing our borders. Mexico is extremely dangerous and corrupt and this will not be easy but can be done with mutually benefitting diplomacy. Our Canadian border is also a concern of mine as it is often forgotten about.
I will attempt on reducing taxes to as little as possible, however education and public safety must never be slashed or compromised.
I am running as an independent because just like my constituents I know nothing is black and white. Both parties have screwed up and are to blame for our recent foreign and domestic policy mistakes. I am not against our government as many conservative tea parties are but I am not supportive of the nanny state of beauracracy as many liberals are. I am in the middle, I am my own man who is not a puppet to any political party. I will never vote along party lines but will infact vote in the best interest of the American people.

The Nanny State Chronicles: Episode 1- Business versus Bureaucracy
Why?
First off I had no parking spot at my home and was expected to move my vehicle every 2 hours, or I was in an important meeting and couldn't just run out in the middle of it to feed the meter. The revenue raised by meter maids in Los Angeles ironically enough doesn't even make any money for the city or state instead it goes to paying their salaries, gas, vehicle maintenance and insurance.
The ridiculous traffic and parking regulations in L.A actually hurt small business because I would avoid going to stores due to the lack of parking.
A way to create a business is to create a parking lot where citizens can pay a reasonable rate and not have to race out of the movies or from shopping to put more quarters in the meter or face a 55 to 155 dollar punishment. This would allow shoppers to enjoy spending money and stimulating the economy without worry.
Also a parking lot would allow for another lane of traffic to be opened up and decrease traffic. Also a system of parking lots will allow us to hire a staff of maintenance people including attendents, custodians and valet. It's not fair that poor signs and unfair laws take away much needed money from good citizens over honest mistakes. Thank you.
